On three excellent DVDs from PumpingMuscle.com (Gym 1, Gym 2, and Photo shoot) Benjamin Loehrer is talking about his workout and the life of a bodybuilder. You see that Benjamin is not only big, but also clever and smart, and above all very relaxed. It's great fun to watch him explaining his approach to bodybuilding while he is sitting on a bench in his gym and eating green beans, which is his fifth meal of six meals for today. This is cool, and informative.

Many workout enthusiasts complain of having no gains and justify it with bad genetics. But Benjamin says: "Definitely genetics has a part to play. But you have to eat consistently all the time. Lean beef, chicken, fish, potatoes, rice." He emphasizes that quality of food is decisive: "Good carbs, good proteins, good fat. But I definitely don't diet hard core all the time. I enjoy eating. I enjoy pastas. And you have to train as hard as you possibly can, every single workout. Then you see your gains, because without proper nutrition you don't have the fuel for the workouts, and without the workouts you never build muscle."

But can a young bodybuilder be as big as Benjamin without supplements? "I really don't use any supplements at all, usually just some protein. And now I've been taking a fat burner for a few weeks. I never recommend supplements to people. The only reason for protein is: It's an easy, quick way to get protein throughout the day. But stuff like steriods is not worth, because it's dangerous."

Imagine a muscle-bound guy like Benjamin going along the street. Does he get more positive or more negative attention from people? Benjamin: "It's probably 50 to 50 per cent. A lot of people respect you. They say: "Wow, you are a big dude! You play football?" This is fun. But some are jealous of you. They think you are a steroid freak. This can be annoying. But once they get to know me, they see that I'm just laid-back." And how about attention from girls? "It's nice to have girls' attention. They say: "Oh my God, show me your arms!" That is why I often stay covered up, because my girlfriend can get jealous. (He smiles) My girlfriend is more into me than into my biceps."

Benjamin is not only lifting weights and competing. He is currently building up his own personal training business which can be contacted on the website 4acompletebody.com. He says: "As a certified personal trainer and competitive bodybuilder, it's very rewarding to see other people achieve their fitness goals. I enjoy educating others with current fitness techniques, knowledge and positive motivational support to help people look and feel great."

On 4acompletebody.com he tells about his background and his way to bodybuilding: "I grew up in rural South Dakota and recently transplanted to the Twin Cities. Growing up in a rural environment instilled in me a strong work ethic and powerful integrity. Since moving to the Twin Cities, I have a new found appreciation for the culture and community. I began training with weights to become bigger and stronger for football in junior high school, found a passion for it, and I have been training ever since."

And you learn his philosophy for training: "Properly training the body begins with the core and branches throughout the body. Starting with moderate intensity and simplicity, then working into tougher workouts and heavier weights is the most effective and safest way to reach one's fitness goals. These goals can be to lose a few pounds or enter a competition." Knowledge and experience - Are you still unsure whether consulting Benjamin? Just look at him: The man must be right!
