Chennai Super Kings won against Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians played 9th match against Chennai Super Kings at Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk), Chennai today. It was a home match for Chennai Super Kings. Chennai Super Kings won the toss & elected bat first.
It was Mathew Hayden & Murali Vijay who opened the innings for Chennai Super Kings. Murali Vijay failed to give his best shot today as he was bowled in Harbhajan Singh's last delivery of the fourth over of the innings. The pitch was very slippery so batsmen could not connect the ball properly, hence players were not looking aggressive. CSK's biggie Mathew Hayden could play well due to the pitch conditions, he scored 35 runs from 31 deliveries. Similarly, other batsmen played moderately & contributed some runs to CSK's total. By the end of  20 overs, Chennai Super Kings made 165 runs loosing only 4 wickets. Team's top scorer was Mathew Hayden who scored 35 runs from 31 balls which included 2 fours & a six. Mumbai Indians economical bowler was Harbhajan Singh whose economy was 5.75 runs per over & took 1 wicket.
Mumbai Indians started their chase of 168 runs with the openers Shikhar Dhawan & skipper Sachin Tendulkar. Mumbai Indians gave a good start & started to score moderately. Shikhar Dhawan was out in the 1st ball of 7th over, Saurabh Tiwary & Sachin Tendulkar started to build a good partnership. After 9th over, Mumbai Indians got a big blow as skipper Sachin Tendulkar was retired due to illness. After this, Mumbai Indains started to loose wickets very quickly, wickets were falling in every over. Sachin Tendulkar was back in the 15th over when Ryan McLaren was out. Sachin did not play well this time, he got out in the 17th over. Harbhajan Singh could not reduce the pressure as the asking rate was almost impossible to achieve. At the end of 20 overs Mumbai Indians scored 141 runs loosing 9 wickets. Chennai Super Kings won the match by 24 runs. Sachin Tendulkar was the top scorer for Mumbai Indians. Chennai Super Kings economical bowler was Suresh Raina whose economy rate was 4.8 runs per over & picked up a wicket.
